Three months after the pedalling paramedics completed their epic challenge they have received an anonymous donation to nearly double their £10,000 target for the Ambulance Service Benevolent Fund.
The team of nine riders as well as support staff from the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) completed their ride from Blackpool to the Eiffel Tower on Thursday, May 30.
Matt Broad, EEAST General Manager in Norfolk, said: "I want to thank the kind donor and everyone who has given money to what is a great cause.
"We have been just under our target for so long and this news has come as a great boost to our team and the Trust as we plan for next year's challenge."
The anonymous donation of £10,000 came via the Just Giving website and was confirmed last night as the total raised, reached almost £20,000.
Chairman of the ASBF Paul Leopold said: “The ASBF is indebted to the team and we want to thank them for their tremendous efforts. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank the East of England Ambulance Service for the tremendous support it has offered to the team."
