Braintree: John Ray Infant School assembly update
5:09pm Tuesday 3rd September 2013 in News
An assembly will be held to update parents on proposals after a school was destroyed by a fire.
Following the fire at John Ray Infant School on Saturday, the school is arranging temporary accommodation to relocate the pupils and hopes to have an update later this week on where and when this will take place.
In the meantime, Essex County Council can confirm that parents and pupils will be invited to an assembly to run through plans for the pupils.
This will take place at Notley High School in the theatre on Monday, September 9, at 9.30am for Years 1 and 2 and for 12 noon for Foundation Stage.
Space is limited in the theatre so the school would be grateful if just one adult per child attends the assembly.
The school hopes to start running activities for children from next week and the format of these activities will be discussed at the assembly.
Sandra Way, headteacher of John Ray Infant School said: “I’m incredibly grateful for all the support shown towards the school over the last few days.
“I know it is a difficult time for parents and pupils and I appreciate that having so much uncertainty is not easy.
“However, we are working hard to try and find the best possible solution and I ask for your continued patience while we work arrangements out.
"I thank you all for your good wishes and commitment to our school.”
