Cases of a highly infectious killer dog virus have been confirmed in Braintree and Witham, prompting calls for more pets to be vaccinated.
Helen Archibald, who owns the Black Notley Veterinary Surgery, raised the alarm after a case of the extremely aggressive Parvovirus took the life of young rottweiler cross, Scooby.
A spokesman for Spring Lodge Vets in Witham, also confirmed they had seen several cases of the virus in the last fortnight, adding that it was “extremely unusual for the area”.
