Braintree: Former school set to become flats
1:00pm Friday 30th August 2013 in News
An Edwardian school is set to be converted into apartments.
Tabor House in Coggeshall Road, Braintree, which was formerly the County High School in the early 1900s, could be converted into 19 one and two bedroom flats.
Until recently the grand building belonged to Essex County Council and was used by social services.
The site has now been bought by One Property Group, which aims to submit a planning application in the coming weeks.
A spokesman said they hope to begin building after Christmas and start showing people around the properties in summer next year.
He added: “We are trying to keep the central atrium with apartments being the former classrooms.”
