Witham: Beer festival returns to town
5:00pm Wednesday 21st August 2013 in News
Get your pint glasses at the ready because the Witham Cricket and Hockey Club beer festival is returning to the town for its third year running.
Following the success of last year’s event, the festival, which starts tomorrow at 5pm and runs everyday until Saturday, will have a selection of over 30 ales, ciders and wines, live entertainment and cricket matches at the park in Maldon Road.
All funds raised this year from the festival will go towards the upkeep of the Club House, which needs repair work and a new cooker.
As well as the range of alcoholic beverages to be sampled at the festival, there will also be daily cricket matches and an all-day BBQ and live entertainment in the evenings.
The festival opens tomorrow at 5pm until 11pm, then gates open at noon until 11pm on Friday and Saturday.
Entry is £2 per person, with a £1 deposit required for hiring a glass to sample the many different beverages on sale.
