Braintree: Bus firm apologises after driver refuses £5 note
3:00pm Saturday 24th August 2013 in News
A Braintree mum has branded a bus service “disgraceful” amid claims she was refused a ride because she had nothing smaller than a £5 note.
Angie Easter, 49, said she was left embarrassed when the scene unfolded in front of passengers of the number 70 service at the Marks Farm Tesco stop.
A First spokesman said: “Following on from the customers complaint, we have identified the driver and they have been retrained in-line with our company policy.
“We would like to apologise to the customer, and hope that they continue to travel with us.”
