Braintree: Shoppers suffer financial headache after computer glitch in Bocking
3:00pm Friday 23rd August 2013 in News
Villagers have been left in the red after a shop computer glitch caused financial mayhem.
Mum-of-two Joanne Banks, 36, claims she made 11 transactions amounting to £146 over July 18, July 25 and August 2 at the Chelmsford Star Co-op in Bocking Church Street.
However, on receiving her bank statement she saw that the 11 transactions were all processed by the food store on August 14.
A Chelmsford Star Co-op spokesman said: “The society deeply regrets the inconvenience that this has caused some of the society’s valued customers of the Bocking store."
An internal investigation is taking place.
