Braintree: Butterfly fete for Ella tomorrow
8:42am Friday 16th August 2013 in News
Ella’s Butterfly Fete will be held on Saturday to raise money for a charity for children with a premature ageing disorder.
The fete, organised by Jodie Barden, of Speedwell Close in Witham, will raise much-needed funds for charity Amy and Friends, who have supported her family since her daughters, Ella, six, and Chloe, three months, tested positive for Cockayne Syndrome, a premature aging disorder.
Mrs Barden said: “We have been so lucky with all the support we have had from the charity and from everyone else too.
"Ella is excited, she has seen me rushing around like a headless chicken trying to arrange everything so I think she knows that something is going on and she is looking forward to seeing her friends on the day too."
The fete opens at 10am until 2pm on the land opposite Asda, Spa Road, in Witham.
Bertie the Butterfly, the mascot for Amy and friends will make an appearence and performances by Witham All Stars, bouncy castles, face painting, tombolas and competitions, as well as a selection of stalls will be running.
Entry is free but with all proceeds going to Amy and Friends donations are encouraged.
