Essex: Future of The Cursed event in jeopardy
1:00pm Sunday 18th August 2013 in News
The future of The Cursed halloween event is in jeopardy following plans to sell it off.
Essex County Council has run the event, which was originally based at Great Notley Country Park before moving to Cressing Temple Barns, for the past few years.
It recently advertised the sale of assets linked to The Cursed, which was billed as the county's number-one Halloween scare event.
A spokesman said: “Essex County Council is constantly reviewing the services and events that are offered by its country parks and the decision has been made that The Cursed event will not be run by ECC in future.
“ECC posted an advert on its website inviting interested parties to respond via an expression of interest for the potential purchase of assets in relation to the Cursed event by August 9.
“It is unknown at this stage whether the event will be continue to be managed by ECC as it is subject to a bid process.”
She said there was interest in the sale but was unable to say how much money is likely to be asked for.
