Braintree: Residents call for litter man to be recognised for his efforts
5:00pm Saturday 17th August 2013 in News
Residents are calling for a man who voluntarily picks up litter in the streets around Braintree to get the recognition he deserves for his efforts.
Shani Smith, who lives near King George V park with her children Alfie, 4, and Summer, 2 expressed her gratitude to the man for keeping her local parks tidy.
“He is such a fantastic man,” she said.
“As you can imagine, I've spent a lot of time at the four parks within walking distance to my house, I don't know the guy personally but have seen him loads and he always stops and chats.
“He’s such a nice guy, I've seen him in all months, in rain, snow and sunshine, always in his shorts and I often joke about the weather.
“He keeps the parks clean for our children to play in and always smiles and stops for a chat, a big thank you to him.”
But it seems that there might be more than person dedicated to keeping Braintree litter free in their own time.
Do you know a litter picking champion? We’d love to hear from you.
