A Braintree gran is celebrating after her Lucky Dip ticket scooped £281,685 in the Euromillions draw.
Rita Jarvis, 63, is over the moon following the win on Friday, which will allow her and her husband Rob, 53, to buy the dream home that they never imagined would be a reality.
But life hasn’t always been easy for the couple who have been married for 21 years.
Rita had to give up her part-time job at the local Co-Op when she was diagnosed with arthritis of the back.
To make ends meet, Rob has been working seven days a week, driving all over the region as a refrigeration engineer.
Rita said: “I can’t describe how amazing this feels.”
