Coggeshall carnival is raring to go, despite organisers facing difficulties with the rising costs of putting on event.
This year’s court is queen Victoria Reardon, senior princesses Hollie Mills and Imogen Welton, junior princesses Amber Wheeler and Rebecca Alderton, mascot Bethany Brand and flower girl Lia Hudson.
They will lead the procession on July 20 and community groups will be dressing up as Harry Potter characters.
Hazel Picknell-Stride, president of the Coggeshall Carnival Association, said they are “low on funds” but still determined to keep going.
The procession starts at Honywood Community Science School and finishes with a fete on the recreation ground in East Street.
