Ducks on the pond at Great Notley
A cat has been blamed for killing ducklings on a village pond.
The black and white feline, which does not have a collar, has been seen carrying the babies in Great Notley.
Concerned resident Fred Illman, 76, said: “I keep chasing it away.
“There is one duck there which is swimming and quacking away looking for its babies and it has none left. "
He is appealing for its owner to put a bell around its neck to warn off the birds.
