Fears have been raised a solar farm could impact on the countryside and great crested newts.
Lightsource Renewable Energy Limited plans to install 24,432 solar panels on a field at Drapers Farm, east of Milch Hill Lane, Great Leighs, 300 metres from Great Notley Country Park.
The panels will cover 4.28 hectares but the whole farm, including fences and gaps between rows, will cover 15.5 hectares.
A consultant ecologist at Essex County Council has raised concern about the impact on great crested newts and Felsted parish council and some residents have also objected to the plans.
