Farce comes to Witham Public Hall with Alan Ayckbourn’s adaptation of Tons of Money.

Amateur inventor Aubrey Allington is broke and in debt, but when a distant relative dies and leaves him a fortune it seems his troubles are over.

Unfortunately he owes so much money that, by the time he pays everyone off, he would be penniless again.

Aubrey’s wife comes up with a brilliant plan - Aubrey must pretend to die, and his debts will die with him.

Predictibly, things fail to go according to plan, and hilarity ensues.

Tons of Money, performed by Witham Dramatic Club, takes place tomorrow and Saturday at Witham Public Hall, in Collingwood Road.

Performances start at 7.45pm. Tickets are £8 in advance or £9 on the door, with discounts for concessions.
