Witham: Leisure centre building work to begin next month
Building work on a new leisure centre is set to begin at the end of next month.
Main contractor Barr Construction plans to start work on Witham Leisure Centre, in Spinks Lane, on April 30.
The £9.5million centre, which will be built on the site of the former John Bramston School, is due to open to the public in summer 2014.
Barr Construction was awarded the building contract for the project by Braintree Council in December.
The new centre will feature a 25-metre swimming pool, learner pool, spectator facilities, fitness suite, sauna and dance studios.
