Braintree: Alan collects his MBE - using council's minibus

A community champion picked up his MBE from Buckingham Palace - after being dropped off by a community transport bus.
Alan Millam, 71, is chairman of the Tabor Centre for disabled adults in Braintree, a former district councillor, a tenant board member of Greenfields Community Housing and chairman of Crossroads Care Braintree District and Chelmsford.
Mr Millam, of Trotters Field, Braintree, was given the New Years honour for services to the community.
