A huge solar farm could be built on countryside near Witham.

Lightsource Renewable Energy wants to install 60,000 solar panels on 34.47 hectares of fields south of Little Braxted Hall in Witham Road, Little Braxted.

The panels themselves would cover 10.6 hectares.

The land is within the Chelmer-Blackwater Ridges Special Landscape area, defined by Maldon Council, and near Whetmead Nature Reserve in Witham.
