Braintree: Headteacher to retire after 21 years Braintree: Headteacher to retire after 21 years

A primary school is preparing for life after its long-serving headteacher after he announced his decision to retire.

Peter Anderson is leaving St Peter’s Primary School in Coggeshall in July after 21 years in the role and 38 years in teaching.

He will be replaced by Alison Cole, who is currently acting headteacher at East Bergholt Primary School.

Mr Anderson, 58, of Pebmarsh, first became a headteacher at the age of just 29 - a feat he ranks among his highest in teaching.
