An ambulance and a Ford Escort collided, causing rush hour tailbacks.

Police were alerted to the crash on the B1018 Cressing Road, near Witham, just before 8am today.

A spokesman said no-one was hurt and the vehicles were driveable, but there were tailbacks to Silver End.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “The ambulance was driving not on blue lights when collision occurred along the Cressing Road, Faulkbourne around 7.43am.

“All parties involved uninjured, local EEAST management attended and are investigating this collision.”
