Marie Curie Cancer Care and Braintree Lions Club have teamed up in the hope of raising £1million over the next three years.

Donations collected by Braintree Lions members will help fund free nursing care for people with terminal illnesses.

Lions Club president Simon Churly said: “We are proud to be able to support the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal, as our focus is on helping our local community. This is a great cause and we hope everyone in Braintree will give generously.”

Members will be collecting for the charity at Tesco in Great Notley on Saturday from 9.30am to 4pm.
