Witham: Creative talent to be showcased at book festival
Creative writing talent will be celebrated at a special event as part of Essex Book Festival.
Kindling Short Stories brings together Peggy Riley and Brian Kimberling, two new writers who will be showcasing their debut novels.
Peggy’s novel, Amity and Sorrow, is about God, sex and farming, following the journeys of two very different girls after their escape from a violently religious rural cult.
Brian’s first book, entitled Snapper, is a collection of short stories woven together and inspired by his own experiences of being a birdwatcher in Indiana.
The event, which takes place on Wednesday at Witham Library, will also reveal the winner of the Get It Writ short story competition.
The event starts at 7.45pm, with tickets costing £5 for adults and £4 for concessions.Call 01206 573948 to book.
