Braintree: School lesson inspires youngster's head shave

Before... Before...

A schoolboy had his head shaved for charity after being inspired during a lesson.

Connor Rathe, ten, braved himself for the clippers at High Street Barbers in Braintree, to raise money for the NSPCC.

The Notley Green Primary School pupil suggested the fundraising stunt after learning about the charity at school.

Mum Natasha Rathe, of Timbers Close, Great Notley, said: “They did something about it in class and he decided he wanted to do something to raise money.

“He’s quite a caring little person but he takes lots of pride in his hair so it was quite a big deal when he said he wanted to do a head shave.”

Connor has already raised £460, including donations from teachers and his team-mates at Great Notley Falcons football club.
