UPDATED: Braintree teen arrested after man stabbed in Colchester home
A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed repeatedly in the head, chest and legs at a Colchester home.
Police and paramedics were called to a house in Monkwick Avenue yesterday at about 3.45pm.
Crews found a 41-year-old man with multiple stab wounds who was taken by ambulance to Colchester General Hospital.
His condition is serious but is not believed to be life threatening.
A second man, a 17-year-old from Braintree, was also injured in the incident.
He was found outside McCoys, in Queensland Drive, a short time later and was arrested and taken to hospital with a wound which is not life threatening.
He is currently being questioned by police.
DC Tim Harris, of Colchester CID, said: "I need to hear from any witnesses to the original incident in Monkwick Avenue who may have seen a vehicle nearby and also from anyone who was in Queensland Drive around the relevant time.
"We have not recovered any weapons despite a thorough police search of the area and would also ask the public to be on the look out and call us immediately should they spot anything."
Anyone with information should contact Colchester CID on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Acting Ch Insp Jim White added: "We will be increasing patrols in the area and will have a visible presence should there be any local concerns.
"However, I would stress this is an isolated incident and the two males were known to each other; I do not believe any other members of the public living in the area are at any danger."
