Great Notley: Residents voice concerns over antisocial youths
Antisocial behaviour is continuing to blight a housing estate, according to concerned residents.
Tackling problems with nuisance youths and criminal damage in the Bridge End Lane area of Great Notley has been identified as one of the Notley and Rayne neighbourhood policing team’s latest priorities.
It follows a number of reports of criminal damage and nuisance noise at Notley Green Primary School and the shops opposite.
In August, racist and homophobic graffiti was also scrawled across the windows of Fusion takeaway, while windows at Notley Green Primary School were also smashed.
Darryn and Joanne Jones, who have lived in nearby Thatchers Way since 2002, claimed they were regularly kept awake at night and said they were dreading the return of them summer months.
They alleged vandals had also caused hundreds of pounds of damage to their home over the years.
Another resident, of nearby Blickling Road, claimed neighbours had even witnessed her cat being “thrown around like a ball” by youths.
