The sale of Stansted Airport has been finalised.

Owners Heathrow Airport Holdings Limited sold the terminal to Manchester Airports Group for £1.5bn.

The group – owned by ten Greater Manchester councils – is the largest UK-owned airport operator and owns Manchester, East Midlands and Bournemouth airports.

MAG said it will be business as usual for passengers and customers.

Chief executive Charlie Cornish said: “We’re delighted to have added Stansted to our strong portfolio of UK airports.

“We aim to help fulfil its potential in the London market and bring more choice to its passengers in the years ahead.”
