Braintree: Cook celebrates 80th birthday and 60 years of working

A school cook is still whipping up treats in the kitchen at 80.

Maria Farrow celebrated her birthday on February 19 and 60 years of service to Felsted School.

Mrs Farrow, of Chaffix, Felsted, now serves match teas and works six hours a week during term time only.

The world is a small place: there is someone I know here where I live that knew you personally: he lived on Chaffix thirty years ago and now lives four and a half thousand miles west of Felsted! :-O
