Greenfields is paying for a new helpline for tenants
A free 24-hour helpline offering advice from anything ranging from debt to divorce has been launched.
Greenfields Community Housing, which maintains ex-council housing in Halstead, Witham and Braintree, is paying for the tenant assistance helpline, run by Positive People Company Worldwide.
It will be available to its tenants and leaseholders and was suggested by the housing association’s Empowerment Group, made up of residents.
Diane Foley, head of neighbourhoods, said: “The Empowerment Group decided to fund this service for a year as they feel that tenants could benefit from additional support on a huge range of issues, including starting a new job, returning to work, managing money or debt - particularly in light of the upcoming welfare reform - budgeting, banking, childcare matters, dealing with family or personal crises, bereavement, divorce, separation, pension, tax, wills or retirement issues.”
The helpline starts today. Call freephone 0800 980 6556 (not from mobiles) or visit www.ppconline.
