Braintree: Generous shoppers help 50 hungry people
Generous shoppers donated almost half a tonne of food to Braintree’s foodbank last Saturday.
The food from Tesco in the town centre will feed around 50 people in crisis.
Braintree foodbank warehouse manager, Dennis King, said: “This is an excellent result, exceeding all our previous supermarket collections.
“We are, as ever, very grateful to all those who contributed to the work of the foodbank in this way.”
During January the foodbank fed 200 people, the highest month so far, with a total of over 800 fed since it opened in April last year.
