Braintree district: Five per cent rise in unemployment
Unemployment in Braintree district has risen by more than five per cent according to latest figures.
Data published today showed that 2,691 people in claimed Jobseekers’ Allowance in January.
This compares to 2,557 claiming unemployment benefits during December.
After four consecutive months of unemployment rises, the level of claimants is now at the same level it was a year ago.
