The road was blocked throughout Monday’s morning rush hour as repairs were carried out.

A 25-year-old man, from Witham, has been charged with drink driving, having no insurance, no MOT and driving without due care and attention.

He is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on March 13.
