The family of a murdered mother and daughter have reacted furiously to their killer’s dying wish to be buried next to the pair.
David Oakes, 51, was jailed for life last May for shooting dead Christine Chambers and their two-year-old daughter Shania in Bartram Avenue, Braintree, in June 2011.
Oakes died in hospital last Monday, just months into his life sentence at category A prison, HMP Frankland, in Durham.
He had been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
His son Daniel Oakes has since told a national newspaper about his father’s twisted attempts to be buried next to his victims.
Ms Chambers’ sister, Jeannette Chambers, said the revelations had driven their mother to tears and infuriated the whole family.
