Witham looking to reignite their play-off push
7:56am Tuesday 19th February 2013 in News By Simon Spurgeon
Tom Devaux is set to miss Witham's game against Waltham Abbey tonight.
Witham Town will be looking to bounce back from their Ryman League division one north defeat at Aveley as they begin a run of three home games on the trot tonight.
Waltham Abbey are the visitors to Spa Road tonight in the league (kick-off 7.45pm), followed by Saturday's home game against AFC Sudbury and then the visit of Wroxham on February 26.
Manager Garry Kimble admits the defeat by Aveley knocked his team's chances of finishing in the play-off places at the end of the season, but feels good results in the next few outings could put them back in the frame.
However, they will have to do it in the first two without central defender Tom Devaux and forward Rob Whitnell, as they are set to miss the first two games of the three-match home run through personal commitments.
Keeper Danny Sambridge is also out, but is on the comeback trail after a knee injury and is likely to feature for the reserves on Saturday before coming back into contention for a spot in the first team.
