A superfan had a surprise visit from her idol.
Joan Garfield, 88, spent an hour chatting with Daniel O’Donnell after a member of his fan club organised a private visit to see her at Bupa’s Hatfield Peverel Lodge Nursing Home.
Mrs Garfield, who had always lived in Braintree until moving to the home last March, has been a fan of the Irish crooner for many years.
“My favourite song is How Great Thou Art, but they are all lovely,” she said.
