BOSSES from Essex County Cricket Club have said they will still pay attention to customers over the next couple years, during refurbishment work.

Work is due to start on revamping the County Ground in the spring, which will eventually see the venue increase to an 8,000 capacity and also see new training facilities, offices, flats and a multi-storey car park.

While large parts of the stadium will be closed during certain times, the club has stated it is still focused on offering the best experience to fans.

Danny Macklin, commercial director for the club, said: “A strong level of investment has been made during 2012 and early 2013 to make further improvements to the existing facilities here in the city centre venue.

“Equal attention is being paid on delivering a memorable experience for every visitor in 2013 while we begin the development, which will further strengthen our position as one of the best conference and banquet venues in the region.”
