Witham: Planning expert takes up top role

A Witham man has been named president of the Royal Town Planning Institute for 2013.
Peter Geraghty, currently acting head of planning and transport at Southend Borough Council, will lead the organisation, which has more than 23,000 members and represents professional town planners in the UK and Ireland.
He has worked in planning and development in the public, private and voluntary sectors for more than 25 years.
