A MAN accused of murdering a festival-goer has been cleared by a jury, but still faces a prison sentence for manslaughter.
Sam Martin, 26, of Eastwood Road, Leigh, was found not guilty of the murder of Anton Jardin, 39, at a house party during the V Festival weekend in Chelmsford on August 19 last year.
However, he is still set to face a jail term having pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Crown Court to Mr Jardin's, of Eastwood Road, Rayleigh, manslaughter.
During the trial, jurors heard from the defendant about how hit his victim with a single blow in the garden of a house in London Road, opposite Hylands Park where the music festival was taking place.
Martin is due to be sentenced on Tuesday at the same court.
