Braintree: Great Leighs Racecourse submits application for 45 races next year
Racecourse owners are putting the finishing touches to a bid which would see up to 45 races at Great Leighs next year.
MC Racetracks, which took control of the venue in November 2011, will submit an application this week for inclusion in the 2014 fixture list.
If accepted, races will take place at Great Leighs for the first time since January 2009, when the previous owners of the track entered administration.
The owners are expected to find out if racing will return to the venue within the next four months.
