Braintree district: Shoppers can access offers on mobile phones
Shoppers’ latest money-saving offers are now at their fingertips thanks to a new application for mobile phones.
Braintree Council has launched a free mobile app, giving instant access to Indi card offers for shops and businesses across the district.
The app also allows residents to report problems with bin collections or litter, download council meeting minutes and agendas, and find out about the latest council news and events.
The Indi card scheme was launched in September. So far, more than 7,500 cards have been handed out to shoppers.
Free cards are still available from Halstead Library and from participating shops which have an Indi card window sticker.
Chris Siddall, Braintree Council cabinet member for prosperity and growth, said: “The indi scheme provides shoppers with a great diverse range of offers; from discounts on clothes and accessories to saving money on meals out.
More than 100 businesses are now signed up to the scheme. As well as offers on Braintree Council’s website, there are exclusive reader-only offers available in each week’s Halstead Gazette.
