Witham: Volunteers wanted to chart history of village
Volunteers are being invited to help chart the history of a village built to house factory workers 87 years ago.
Silver End Heritage Society held a photographic exhibition event in the village last Tuesday, inviting visitors to browse photographs and press cuttings to try to identify the people in them.
After winning lottery funding, the society will spend the upcoming year compiling an oral history of the village.
