Braintree: Frightened pensioner condemns speeding drivers near his home
A pensioner fears someone will be killed unless speeding motorists stop treating a housing estate like a race track.
Owen Allan, 74, fears it is only a matter of time before a car comes careering off Marlborough Road, Braintree, and flying through the wall of his bungalow in adjoining Beaufort Gardens.
He said drivers used the road like a dual carriageway, driving well in excess of the 20mph speed limit.
The claims came after two vehicles came off the bend and into the railings in front of his home in the last few weeks, causing more than £1,000 damage.
