Braintree: Driver's lucky escape after crash

A driver had a lucky escape after crashing into a stationary van carrying gas cylinders.
Part of Braintree Road in Cressing was closed for two hours while emergency services attended the scene near Jeffreys Road on Saturday at 8.40am.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “Officers received a report that a Peugeot car had been in collision with a stationary Renault Tipper van.
“The fire service were also in attendance as it was reported the van was carrying gas cylinders and fuel was leaking onto the road.
“Police put in road closures while the accident scene was dealt with and the road was reopened at approximately 10.40am.
“Ambulance staff and paramedics treated the Peugeot driver for injuries, which were not thought to be serious.”
