Braintree: Intruders disturbed before they could break into home
Would-be thieves were disturbed by the occupants of a house before they could gain access.
The intruders attempted to enter the property in Harkilees Way, Braintree, at about 3am on Wednesday.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "The would-be thieves are believed to have tried to gain access to the house by trying to pull away the beading holding in a panel on the back door.
"It is thought they were disturbed by movement inside the house and left before they could gain access.
"Police would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard any susipicious activity in the area at the time in question.
"They can call Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
