Dunmow: Arrest made in firearms investigation
Officers have made an arrest as part of an investigation into reports a man had been seen with a gun.
Police received reports on Thursday afternoon that a man had a gun in the waistband of his trousers in the Poplars area of Dunmow.
At the time an armed search of the area was carried out and the police helicopter was also deployed but no intial trace of the suspect was found.
Yesterday, police arrested an 18-year-old man from the Dunmow area in connection with the investigation.
He was taken to a police station for questioning and has been bailed to return on Thursday, February 14.
A suspected BB gun has also been recovered by police.
