Members of the Royal British Legion fear a local branch could close down if people do not lend a helping hand.
Committee members of the Royal British Legion Wickham Bishops and District branch are appealing for help amid concerns it could shut after running for more than 60 years.
The branch currently has around 100 members and raises over £1,000 each year through events to provide support, welfare and comradeship for the Armed Forces community.
It also joins in with the poppy appeal each year, as well as organising a band concert.
Former chairman and committee member Frank Simpson, 84, said: “We are deperately short of helpers.
“We are looking for younger people with a bit of get up and go about them to join the committee because we are running out of steam."
