Braintree: TV talent show star to headline comedy night
Television talent show winner Patrick Monahan is headlining Braintree Arts Theatre’s next Funhouse Comedy night.
The comedian won ITV’s stand-up comedy contest Show Me The Funny, in 2011, impressing judges including Alan Davies, Jimmy Tarbuck and Jo Brand.
His reward was a nationwide tour and a Christmas DVD release. It was a welcome boost for a man who had been a mainstay of the comedy circuit for ten years already.
Having previously carved out a living as a warm-up for other acts, Patrick is now pulling in crowds in his own right.
Irish-Iranian Patrick was brought up on Teesside and shares tales of his upbringing with warmth, friendliness and charisma.
* Funhouse Comedy comes to Braintree Arts Theatre on Thursday at 8pm.
