Cinema will return to Witham for the first time in nearly half a century when a new film night is launched later this month.
Witham Public Hall is holding a screening of the Stephen Spielberg drama War Horse on January 26.
If the event is a success, the hall’s trustees hope the film night can become a monthly event.
It will be the first time Witham residents have had the chance to watch films in the town since the Whitehall Cinema in Newland Street, which sat on the current site of Witham Library, closed down in 1964.
War Horse is being screened at Witham Public Hall on Saturday, January 26. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start.
