Witham: New head looking ahead to challenge
The new headteacher at a special needs school in Witham is relishing the prospect of building on its successes.
Julian Cochrane took over at Southview School, in Conrad Road, last week and has already set his sights on taking it forward.
The school, which has 57 pupils, aged three to 19, was graded outstanding following its most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2010.
Mr Cochrane, 45, who was previously deputy head at Shorefields special school in Clacton, said: “I’m only just coming to the end of the first week, but it’s a good school so it’s very easy to settle in."
