A mum has collected more than 100 signatures against controversial plans to build a housing estate on a former market site.
Karen Skinner handed the 123 strong petition to Braintree Council from residents opposed to plans for 94 homes on land off Maldon Road, Witham.
Witham Town Council has also objected and NHS North Essex claims it would need a guarantee of £19,600 for extra healthcare services were the plans to go ahead.
It is the third application for the site after one was refused in 2010 and another was withdrawn in June last year.
Mrs Skinner, of Carraways, who felt she could have collected more signatures had it not been over the festive period, said: “Residents are very very strongly opposed to the development."
