A mother has been jailed for four years after setting light to her house and causing thousands of pounds of damage to two neighbouring properties.

Ana Rego set fire to curtains in the home she had shared for ten years with her partner Augusto Ribeiro, 16-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son, in Rosemary Avenue, Braintree.

Rego, 43, admitted six charges of reckless arson endangering life and was sentenced on Thursday to four years fir each charge, to be served concurrenly.
